Down on the runway hanging out with the flyboys!
It looks bigger when Tom Cruise is sitting there!
Then we went to the Physiology center. We got to see the pressure chamber where they teach the guys how to spot when they nitrous oxide is too high and they need oxygen. Remember that scene in "An Officer and a Gentleman"?
When they are in the chamber and have to play cards and patty cake? We saw video of some of the guys trying to play cards, and when the nitrous oxide starts to hit your brain, it gets you good. This one one guy kept picking up cards and was sure he kept picking up the 4 of Spades, and the last time he wasn't even holding a card, just holding his hand up saying "4 of Spades". The idea is to teach them how to tell when the nitrous is getting to them so they know when to go back onto oxygen.
We also got to see the barometric chamber they use for fliers and divers. They can fit two people in there, and they are in there for about 8 hours. And they can't take anything in with them like books or anything.
They average about 20 people a year needing to use the chamber after diving and surfacing too fast and all.
Then in the end we got to go play with the night vision goggles.

THAT IS SO COOL, NOW ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TALK THEM INTO GIVING YOU A RIDE
Actually, I don't really want a ride!
That looks like so much fun! My DH got to go on an F15 incentive ride before we left Florida and he loved it! I don't think I want a ride either, but I would love to see one up close like that :)
